Grateful to have made it through the storm, to Waco for two night to sleep in air conditioning, back today to my place which sustained no damage--just lots of tree limbs down and debris.
Grateful to all those who have thought of us and prayed for us.
Grateful to all the first responders.
Grateful to have been sober through a major natural disaster...with nary a thought about having a cocktail.
Grateful R and J have electricity (I don't yet) and will stay there until I am back online.
Grateful that Lambda didn't lose power and I can post.
Life will soon be back to normal, until then I will continue to say my prayers and will do my best to maintain my serenity.

Whew!
I'm so glad you are back, safe, sober and grateful. I've missed you Scott W! It's been a tough ride, but we have a lot to be grateful for! Hugs
Welcome home!
Grateful for the update. Take care.
So grateful for SO many things. Mostly grateful for you.
And what a storm it was. I'm glad that you weathered it being sober and will little damage to your house. And grateful that Lambda is up and running.
I will stop every Reliant Energy truck I see and ask them personally to go to your house. I will offer cash and a "peek" wink wink.....to try and help you out.
When we weathered a storm ((Wilma) several years ago, with the 120 mph wind howling about all night and morning, there was no TIME to think about a drink.
However, I'm sure a quart of vodka would have made everything 'better'.
I'm also sure I would not be here having fun commenting all over the place!
We are happy you're SAFE, and that your damage is not great, and you are sober, of course, and so are we!
Yay Scott. I am so grateful for you!
very awesome experience to do sober i'd say :)
glad all is well for you.
i don't know if you ever heard of hugo, but it hit charlotte many years ago. no one expected it b/c we are so far inland.
it was towards the end of my active addiction, i'd had a fight with my boyfriend and taken a bunch of pills, washed it down with liquor so i would hit the emotional coma.
i went walking around in that storm, despite me being such a wreck, i felt a lot of peace and serenity that night. i think it was one of my first real experiences with something more powerful than me. it's a good memory.
I'm so happy that all is going well for you.

All your gratitude in the presence of so many troubles.
Thank you.
I see you.
Scott W,
Your posts about living through Ike are very uplifting. Thank you!
I hope you don't mind, I included a link to your blog on mine. (If you want to read it, click on my name, I connected directly to the relevant post...)
Keep telling the world about the importance of having an attitude of gratitude!
Anne
We had a very mild windstorm compared to what you weathered, and as a result, I've been offline for almost a week. So I only just now found out you're ok and all.
So glad for that :-)
