The trouble with us alcoholics was this: We demanded that the world give us happiness and peace of mind in just the particular order we wanted to get it-- by the alcohol route. And we weren't successful. But when we take time to find out some of the spiritual laws, and familiarize ourselves with them, and put them into practice, then we do get happiness and peace of mind.... There seem to be some rules that we have to follow, but happiness and peace of mind are always here, open and free to anyone. ~Dr. Bob
Today I am grateful...
- to have had an email from a reader of two years that had never commented, but wanted to ask after someone I had mentioned who was back out there, someone I had asked for prayers if you were the praying kind.
- that our personal programs of AA reach far past our physical boundaries
- that through sanity my Higher Power has straightened out a lot of my thoughts
One of the things you will notice about our fellowship is that we hug a lot. Often this makes newcomers uncomfortable because they are not used to being given love and attention without serious strings attached. There are no strings, we just simply love you. ~Reflections for Beginners

That is so wonderful that your secret reader contacted you. We never know, do we?
Regaining my physical health has been a gift; discovering my inner spirituality has been a miracle.

Indeed, our programs do reach beyond physical boundaries. Lovely thought.
i like the quote at the end of your blog about hugging and loving. that's cool.
The hugging and loving always help recharge my soul. I love that. Personal touch is very important to me. Without it, I think I would shrivel and die. Another thing for which to be grateful.
ooo a secret reader..I love that! Is it Tim Gunn? :)
that our programs reach beyond our physical boundaries... oh man yea!
for that and for you, I am particularly grateful!
