Today I am grateful...
  • that I believe I am here for a reason: to love myself and others
  • that I have learned to accept myself
  • that with self-acceptance comes self-respect
  • that what I do has an effect on others, that I am apart of other's lives and they a part of mine
  • that I have begun to trust
  • that faith springs from the foundation of trust

"He drank not as an epicure, but barbarious, with a speed and dispatch, as if he were performing a homicidal function, as if he had to kill something inside himself; a worm that would not die." - Baudelaire speaking of Edgar Allen Poe (or Scott W).

Poor Poe, he had a very twisted soul.Makes me glad I'm superficial.

Poe lived for a while down here. No wonder he wrote about all the scary things that he did. I'm glad that you didn't kill the worm and that you're still here today.

Edgar Allen Poe is my alltime favorite writer. I used to recite the Raven to my daughter when she was younger, she absolutely loved it! (and yeah, we were a bit strange in the reading material. That description of him could of easily been me...I always said I never drank out of entertainment or amusement, rather to kill the haunting memories of where I'd been and what I survived. These days it's a delicate balance...you learn to accept it all as what made you, what you are today. (Hugs)Indigo

hahahaha...(or Bill)

There's a Poe museum here, since he grew up in Richmond. I've never been. I get a little impatient with him; I prefer Lovecraft.
When Poe was 26 he married his 13 year old cousin, inspiring his famous work The Pip and the Pedophile.

Poe's works always spook me. I don't like to be spooked.
