United Network Command for Law Enforcement

In the sixth grade I had such a crush on David McCallum as Ilya Kuriyakin from The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (see title). For Christmas I got the attache case set you see to the left. Gary B. and I used to play spy games. He was John Solo, Napoleon Solo's brother but since I had 'Continental' loafers* just like Ilya did I had to play that part. We would sit on the bank of the front yard like we were sipping martinis at a bar and when finished would toss the imaginary glasses backwards. We also had a secret meeting place (our furnace room)!
.
*Continental loafers were just like penny loafers but without the cross band that held the penny.

I guess David McCallum is back. But thankfully THRUSH is gone.

I had a secret hiding place also. I remember that show. You were a very cosmopolitan youngster.

I am really enjoying these Sears catalog memories...my brothers and I used to go through that catalog page by page claiming gifts..mine, mine, mine...we'd circle things and write our names on them...big dreams...small reality. The memory brings a smile to my face.

Good Lord, are you still stuck inside that catalog link I sent you??? GET HELP, MAN!

This is another one of those sychronicity things...the other night at a dinner party, we had a long discussion about The Man from U.N.C.L.E. I'll bet that guy is smart, because he seems to have an enormous brain pan.

I swear I posted a comment here yesterday. Anyway, I had a huge crush on him too.

I remember the furnace room. I hated that room because I was scared there was something in it. Don't tell me that I walked in on something that I have tried to forget! lol Actually, you and Mike probably told me there was a monster in there that ate red or something like that.
