We of A.A. obey spiritual principles, at first because we must, then because we ought to, and ultimately because we love the kind of life such obedience brings. Great suffering and great love are A.A.'s disciplinarians; we need no others. ~12 & 12, p. 174

This day I am grateful...
- that I can look beyond the obvious. There is a lot out there to see and some of it hidden in plain sight.
- that I am normally careful about where my thoughts take me and that allows me to rein in my actions as reactions
- to have a full day with a client and then in the afternoon visit my podiatrist to check the healing of my big toe
- for prayers of acceptance, honesty and a daily reprieve from alcohol
- for increasing love for my self, your self and the great self
When we claim powerlessness, we are not claiming irresponsibility. We have no power to control others, what they do, what they did, or what they might do. We're stating that we are willing to end an ineffective life based on willpower and control. And we're beginning a spiritual, mental, and emotional journey in which we take responsibility for ourselves. We are not victims. We are not helpless. Accepting powerlessness when that is appropriate enables us to begin owning our true power to take care of ourselves. ~The Language of Letting Go

I hope that your toe is doing well. I need to get mine checked out. And I really understand powerlessness.
Can I look foward to another picture of your healing toe?
Yep, there are some good things in that 12 x 12. ALL OF IT!
I hope your toe is better, Scott.
When I thinkof your toe, I'm thankful that all I have is a bit of eyeball stuff going on. Don't have to 'walk on' my eyes.
I've been at meetings (two, in all these years!) where the topic was \, "Why do we need the 12x12?" As if the BB is enough. Well, it seems like the 12x12 is also an inspired work...Bill W WAS a great communicator, if nothing else. And God chose him IMO, to pass this stuff on to us. AND HE DID IT! (Remember DO-IT!)
Oh damn I had forgotten about the whole toe incident. Sorry, I should have been checking on you. You need to whine more.
We love the kind of life such obedience brings.so true! Thanks for the reminder.
sorry about your toe. hope it feels better soon.
Thanks for including that last quotation. I'll use that as a topic soon.
Healing thoughts for your toe, Moe.
