IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

04.10.08

You will not have that for which you ask, nor can you have anything you want. This is because your very request is a statement of lack, and your saying you want a thing only works to produce that precise experience—wanting—in your reality.
The correct prayer is therefore never a prayer of supplication, but a prayer of gratitude.
When you thank God in advance for that which you choose to experience in your reality, you, in effect, acknowledge that it is there…in effect. Thankfulness is thus the most powerful statement to God; an affirmation that even before you ask, I have answered. Therefore never supplicate. Appreciate. ~CwG, page 11
Today I am grateful...
  • that what I have today is what I need
  • that I don't need a big, fancy lifestyle
  • for yesterday's great lunch at Ouisie's Table hosted by our client
  • that I am not flying today
  • that today I do not have to drive from Houston to North Dakota like I was going to have to do in the last dream I had before I woke this morning
  • that today the rhythm of life runs pretty well
A bad day is memorable because it is one day among many good days. ~Daily Om

I can't remember the last time I dreamed about driving to North Dakota. Where would you have stayed on the way, or would you have driven straight through?

I'm having a simple-minded kinda day, so I can't wrap my head around that first quotation right now. I understand the gist, but my mind's throttle is in Dick and Jane gear.

I hate to tell you, but I'll be at your house about noon for that road trip we planned to North Dakota. I'm hoping for road signs with words of one syllable. You get to navigate. I've already packed deviled eggs and vegetarian Slim Jim's for the ride.

Well, won't you and Bill just have a wonderful little "AROMA" in the car for the North Dakota. Are you going there to sculpt?

ROAD TRIP!!
Can you rent a car big enough so we could all ride together?
Each with our own unique compulsions and personalities whoa what a ride that would be.
