IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

God sleeps in the mineral, awakens in the plants, walks in the animals, and thinks in you. ~Sanskrit saying
Today I am grateful...
  • that my life just purrs along when I do the work I am supposed to do and turn the results over to a power greater than myself
  • that I do not worry like I used to in my previous life
  • that I can be accepting that I often am not able to focus like I used to
  • that I can be accepting that my short term memory short circuits frequently
  • for post it notes

The continuum of words related to gratitude go from greed and jealousy; through taking things for granted and feeling entitled; to appreciation, acceptance, and satisfaction. The practice of gratitude would be an appropriate prescription whichever one of the above describes your attitudes.
The rules of the grammar of gratitude are not as simple as they seem at first glance, however. For example, often instead of rejoicing in what we have, we greedily want something more, better, or different. We can't be grateful because we are making comparisons and coveting other possibilities.
When this happens on a personal level, when it's our ego that is dissatisfied, then we are ungrateful. But when we want something more, better, or different for the glory of God or for the benefit of the community, this greed may be a manifestation of our devotion, our love, or our yearning for justice. And then we are grateful for these commitments. ~spiritualityandpractice.com

I heard once that George Harrison's mother invented post it notes. I wonder if that is true. Or maybe it was white out. Memory is fading. UGH

So, I think you are referring to Mike Nesmith of the Monkees, whose mother invented White Out. Not sure about Post It Notes, but in Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion one of them claimed that honor.

Hi Scott and TrailBoss !

I can relate to memory losses.

I just accept it for how it is these days for me. It is laughable it happens so much.

Love you, Scott

So, you are correct of course. I have a claim to fame. The inventor of the Playtex bottle (the one w/the bag inside) lived in what is called Whitehaven. I went to school with his daughter and had art class with her in the 8th grade. I do remember Romy claiming that when they went to the high school reunion. Funny.

My memory short circuits so much that I forget whose feet those are that I can no longer see.

Thanks for the gratitude quotation. That's just what I needed to read today!

I miss my excellent memory! But...I know it's around here somewhere ;)
I'm a post it note junkie.
I don't know who Romy and Michelle is or what school they went to.

I think it was Jean Paul Sartre who said, "Never use White Out on a Post-It Note, as you will forever be reminded of that which you tried in vain to block out." Musta been an alcoholic. With an attitude.
