Today I am grateful...
- that while I may have many things to consider today, one thing I do not have to consider is whether or not to take a drink
- that we had a lot of celebrants last night at Birthday Night, but danged if they weren't the most long-winded shares I have heard in a long time
- that today I start studying Integrity, the principle behind the 5th step
- for sacrifices and rewards, patience and a well stocked spiritual life
Early in recovery. I heard Aldous Huxley give a lecture. Afterwards I went up to him, I had an AA pin on my lapel and he spotted it and he was ebullient and said;" I'm a friend of Bill W!" I didn't know Bill W, so I said: Mr. Huxley, what is God? and with this grin, he said; "God is the inner experience of principles applied." I said:" Yeah...maybe you, didn't understand the question." He said; "You have a program, if you will apply those Steps, one day at a time, in your life, you will eventually have inner experiences that can't come about any other way. Then you won't have to ask that question because you will have the experience." - Eddie C.

It was our Birthday Night too!
One of the chip-givers was utterly vulgar from the podium; using the P-word and the D-word in a room with two nuns and a visiting mom and who knows who else. It was very disturbing to me, I was furious.
Then I saw this thing happen; that behavior was tempered by a grace far beyond my understanding. Humbling, I tell you.
Yes 28 celebrants with 303 yrs of experience.Then came the time for the two 32 year celebrants. They were both very thankful and very gracious up & off in less sthan a minute each. Perfect examples.
