IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Addiction: it's dirty, it's messy, it's disgusting, it's painful. It can be treated, but not cured, and it's with you for life.
Today I am grateful...
  • for the Nau Haus Gallery owner, Dan's, visit yesterday. We then laid out most of the paintings I have done over the past year and he was really excited about seeing them. For me, it was great to see them all at one time, life size, instead of on the computer. We chatted about displaying them, my influences, pricing and stuff surrounding the fact that this is my first gallery show. He suggested we not focus on it being my first, but on my collectibility. We are going to finish the pieces with painted lattice (he has a manual frame chopper and emphasized the fact that a framed piece shows the artist's respect for his art) and along with the gallery pricing list, there will be individual tags so the guests will have easier access to the information. He has a mailing list of 1,000 and many are there to schmooze with their friends. The list gets in the way, but seeing the information with each piece lends to the ease of purchasing. His clients expect emerging artists selling quality talent at reasonable prices. So that is what they will get. It was very exciting. My first foray into the art scene. How did this all happen? See the next bullet:
  • for sobriety
  • for recovery
  • for the twelve steps through the program of Alcoholics Anonymous
  • for a couple posts by Mary here and here and the quote provided above

I am more than happy, I am JOYFUL.

I am more than healthy, I am WHOLE.

I am more than alive, I am RADIANT.

I am more than successful, I am FREE.

I am more than caring, I am LOVING.

I am more than tranquil, I am PEACEFUL.

I am more than interested, I am INVOLVED.

I am more than adequate, I am TRIUMPHANT.

I am more than fortunate, I am PROSPEROUS.

I am more than human, I am a CHILD OF GOD.

~William Arthur

P.S., the show opening is January 5th. Nau Haus Gallery is on the northwest corner of 11th Street and Courtlandt, 3 blocks west of Heights Boulevard.

I might show up even though I have no invitation, if I can get those hobos to explain the boxcar transportation network.
