IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

10-4 in 07

. . . . [W]e know that the pains of drinking had to come before sobriety, and emotional turmoil before serenity. ~12 & 12
Today I am grateful...
  • that today I will pick up a couple of new canvases and start a new painting
  • for the spiritual gift of consistency
  • that I only have a daily reprieve, but I get it daily
  • that I have at my disposal, today, a program so powerful it can temporarily HALT a drunk's disease

I try hard to hold fast to the truth that a full and thankful heart cannot entertain great conceits. When brimming with gratitude, one's heartbeat must surely result in outgoing love, the finest emotion that we can never know. ~Bill W

As an alcoholic, I know that I can be lured into thinking that the world revolves around ME, but today's first quotation speaks directly to me right now. Isn't it funny how that frequently happens, in meetings and out? There truly are no coincidences in this life. Paint on, beautiful maverick!
