IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Many of our fears are tissue-paper-thin, and a single courageous step would carry us clear through them. --Brendan Francis
Today I am grateful...
  • for air conditioning during these ungodly hot days. Today it's to reach 102F with a heat index of 112.
  • for the fun outing to Galveston--the play was fun and the food was great and the waiter was cute
  • for sacrifices and rewards, patience and a well stocked spiritual life
  • that I won't hear any Christmas music today
  • that today the world is colored rather than gray
  • that I am not the jealous type
  • that what I see in you today will reflect how I see myself
There is overwhelming evidence that the higher the level of self-esteem, the more likely one will treat others with respect, kindness, and generosity. People who do not experience self-love have little or no capacity to love others. --Nathaniel Branden

i like the gratitude for the reflection part. I have trouble with that lesson sometimes. I like that way you put it....

Because I HATE Christmas music. And I was grateful this morning that I wouldn't have to hear any. Why did that cross my mind? I have not a clue there.

If you are looking to avoid Christmas right now, do not go, I repeat..do not go to COSTCO!

k.

That spiritual thing is huge for me right now..I am so thirsty for answers and peace and acceptance.
I found myself sitting outside today with Jasper on my lap and the Summer breeze through my hair and feeling like maybe my connection to my spirit allows me to stop and enjoy those kinds of tender simple moments during times my heart is a little achey.Or maybe it is because I am begining to see myself a little more adaptable to day to day life when I adapt to myself letting go ?
That could be..either way.....I am willing to believe.
You have a great day and man I would SO trade weather with you!

Thanks Shannon 4 asking that, I was curious too. I am a Christmas NUT, and will listen to jazz xMas music many times, hmmmm, maybe, just maybe I will do so now. :)

I do think it is cute that you don't like the tunes, it is all good. :)

My brain is so gone, I can't think of a Christmas carol pun. drat!

I have wonderful memories of my recent trip to Galveston... and then Houston. It really is a shining memory.

You have no idea (maybe you do) of how hard it is for me to hold back writting the lyrics to a Christmas Song. I loved your post today.
I'm late posting...going to bed..it's just such a silent night, all is calm, and yes all is bright.

Since Scott worked in retail for a large part of his life he has always hated Christmas songs. I can remember singing quite a few to him just to be annoying, but then isn't that what siblings do?
