IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Sunday April 22

We faced three disturbing realizations:

1. We are powerless over addiction and our lives are unmanageable;
2. Although we are not responsible for our disease, we are responsible for our recovery;
3. We can no longer blame people, places and things for our addiction. We must face our problems and our feelings. ~NA Basic Text, chapter 3
Today I am grateful...
  • to have found a source for the Narcotics Anonymous Basic Text online. I have gotten so much from quotes from this book I have found on the internet and am anxious to read more.
  • for the achy body today and the great sleep I got last night. We worked hard yesterday creating beauty, moving, lifting and for me, hanging pictures. This morning I will do some book work either before the meeting or afterward, then this afternoon Bunny and I will go to Baytown to have a gathering of some of my oldest friends (and their dogs and boyfriends).
  • to have been given another day of sober life

Today I am grateful to be able to take responsibility for my recovery. I'm also grateful to you for telling me I could access the NA basic text on-line (yeah, I know, I'm a little SLOW sometimes LOL)
Hope you and Bunny and the Boyz have a great Sunday!
love and HUGS

I love the Basic Text..a lot of straight forward, no bull stuff in there. Hey...you start liking the NA literature, maybe you'll find your way to San Antonio in August?

Hi Scott. I have the NA text in my bathroom, and read in it all the time. Although I rarely go to NA meetings....I can relate of course to all of it. It's got some good stuff in it....hasn't it?
