IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

We begin evaluating others as we have learned to evaluate ourselves, with an empathy born of humility. As we watch others, and as we keep watch on ourselves, we can finally say, "I understand." ~NA Just for Today
Today I am grateful...
  • to smile with remembrance of my mother, born on this day in 1926. Lou Gehrig's took her from us in 1999, but can never rob our hearts of her love.
  • that today I do not have to run from myself
  • for Taschen's 25th anniversary book on Magritte, I have been so inspired by his work for years
  • for the agreement with my Higher Power that if I do not drink that I will not get drunk
  • for the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous
I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life. ~Abraham Lincoln
Did you ever see an unhappy horse? Did you ever see a bird that had the blues? One reason why birds and horses are not unhappy is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses. ~Dale Carnegie

Wow, it sounds like you had a wonderful Mom. I love the Abe Lincoln qoute about Mother's prayers. I will try to remember that with Sam.

One thing I'm sure of is that love is eternal. Every day sober is a day you can rejoice in the love that surrounds you.

Thanks for all the gratitude.
