In the new year, I will live one day at a time. I will make each day one of preparation for better things ahead. I will not dwell on the past or the future, only on the present. I will bury every fear of the future, all thoughts of unkindness and bitterness, all my dislikes, my resentments, my sense of failure, my disappointments in others and in myself, my gloom and my despondency. I will leave all these things buried and go forward, in this new year, into a new life.
Today I am grateful...
- for a new topic on Sobriety Society
- for a spiritual path to recovery
- for the end of a fulfilling year
- for dinner and a movie (Babel) with Matt, a little fellowship and a full punch bowl, and at midnight to be snuggled with Bunny in bed lost in conversation with my Higher Power
- for those that get the joke
- for a growing understanding benchmarked by a sense of knowing less
- for the comfort of knowing I AM enough
- that good things come to those who wait
In our new life, we have good reason to feel confident and optimistic. We have friends who understand us; we have sponsors who will share with us their own experience and hope. We have a Higher Power who is, as the poet Tennyson said, "closer to us than breathing, and nearer than hands and feet." We face nothing alone, and in the new year all experiences can help us grow. ~Walk in Dry Places

I had fun with you last night. Thanks for spending my New Year's Eve with me.
2007 is going to be a great year. My ESPN tells me so.
Please stop calling me Shirley.
Blessed be Bunny, for he fills my friend's heart with love.
Happy January 1. How wonderful is it to celebrate the end sober and the beginning sober. But sober is a small part :) You are filled with lots of tranquility, keep it going.
Another year...
May it be the best for you!
