A man's true wealth is the good he does in the world. Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror. But you are eternity and you are the mirror. ~Kahlil Gibran
Today I am grateful...
- for my gang's Christmas dinner last night. David, our favorite waiter, was keyed up and kept us laughing. Afterwards we exchanged gifts. What a great evening.
- for a great night's rest under warm covers, the rain making its soft sounds as we slept
- that I found all those great Christmas images from my birth year, 1954
- that today we (Randall, Jim, Bunny and I) go to Waco to visit Randall's family for the holiday. No posting tomorrow unless it's late in the day after we get back.
- for the gift of sobriety and recovery
- for the gifts given to me by a power greater than myself
- that my holiday funk seems to have lifted
- that you and yours will have a Happy Holiday
We have been given a new life, just because we happened to become alcoholics. Many people live good lives from their youth on, not getting into serious trouble, being well adjusted to life, and yet they have not found all that we drunks have found. We had the good fortune to find Alcoholics Anonymous and with it a new life. We are among the lucky few in the world who have learned a new way of life. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day
