Today I am grateful...
- for the two newcomers at yesterday's noon meeting. Emotions ran high as one shared how she could not stop drinking, no matter what.
- for this statement on page 23 of alcoholics Anonymous: the main problem of the alcoholic centers in his mind, rather than in his body
- that I sold a canvas before the noon meeting (see my half-naaked entry) for cash
- to see so much of me in all of you
- that I can avoid a myriad of trouble if I keep my mouth shut
- that a few spoken words between two alcoholics can result in a lifetime friendship
- for daily calls from Boston
Each moment of your day which you devote to this new way of life is a gift to God. The gift of the moments. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day

When I live in the future, I live in fear.
When I stay in the NOW, everything's always okay.--Joan T.

Scott, I've been meaning to tell you I checked out your artwork site and WOWeeeeee! Very, very cool!
Love your gratitudes. I will pray for the woman who believes she cannot stop drinking. I was her once.
Great list ~
1 because you sold a canvas!!! Rock on brother friend!
and
2 because I love this "that I can avoid a myriad of trouble if I keep my mouth shut."
In early sobriety it was like I had tourettes syndrome! Constantly putting foot in mouth. Eventually I learn to shut the hell up!
Peace~
