IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

People do not care much for those who are smug and self-satisfied or those who gossip and criticize. But people are impressed by true humility. So we should try to walk humbly at all times. Gratitude to God and true humility are what make us effective. ~24 Hours a Day

Today I am grateful...
  • that LaJuana is back blogging on a (?) regular basis
  • that although I am getting increasingly more spam comments, they are usually on old posts...so no reason, yet, to reinstate word verification
  • that Brad Pitt is still cute and I do not care
  • that a program of recovery has given me a new set of eyes
  • for continued enthusiasm for my recovery
  • for the work Bill Clinton and Bill and Melinda Gates are doing for AIDS in Africa
  • that as a young person I was instilled with a sense of fairness and a genuine belief that humans are inherently good

Have the courage to do what is right instead of what is easiest or most convenient. It will earn you the respect of others and, even more importantly, the respect of yourself.
Have the courage to see and accept things for what they are. That will put you in position to make a real difference.
Have the courage to love, to speak your mind, to follow your curiosity and your passions. Have the courage to give of yourself, for the goodness you give will come back to you over and over again. ~Ralph Marston

Hi Scott,

I like the quote by Marston. It's really how I live my life. My jobs have been in the non-profit "good work" sector for four years now. I am committed to that kind of work now, and it has managed to support me and my world quite nicely. I feel better about me and I know it makes me a better person. I don't think too many corporate execs have people say the things to them that they say to me about job, such as, "You're fighting the good fight," and "God has a special place for you." It has not been difficult, either.

Hey, cool that we chose the same quote -- you on Sobriety Society and me on my blog. I subscribe to Transitions Daily group and when I received that one, I just loved it.

Have a beautiful day.

I don't think Brad Pitt is cute. I think he's damn good looking though. Too bad he thinks he's straight.

Sorry guys, but I have no opinion on Brad Pitt, one way or the other.

That was very cool. I love it when people drop knowledge like that.
