If you are afraid of your future, you don't have a present. ~James Petersen

Gratitude...
  • for the thought yesterday at the noon meeting 'What a perfect place to be, sitting here in MY chair'. The meeting was very reflective due to persons there representing to the group the passing of one of our members. The WE of the program is one of my favorite topics. It is one that was drilled into me by my spiritual brother Dennis R. It allowed me to be able to place my sobriety first simply because it gave me the relief from thinking I had to do it all on my own. It afforded me the ability to get over being so scared of YOU. It really saved me.

How joyful to look upon the Awakened and to keep company with the wise. Follow then the shining ones, the wise, the awakened, the loving, for they know how to work and forbear. But if you cannot find friend or master to go with you, travel on alone ~ like a king who has given away his kingdom, like an elephant in the forest. ~Buddha, from the Dhammapada

I guess that's why "We" is the first word in the first Step... Knowing I wasn't the only one feeling the way I felt kept me coming back to meetings early on!

Ditto to Scott's comment.
I love you bro!
I see you too,

I remember walking into my first meeting and being horrified of you (the AA fellowship). I had no idea then what unconditional love filled the rooms.
