Quiet minds cannot be perplexed or frightened, but go on in fortune or misfortune at their own private pace, like a clock during a thunderstorm. ~Robert Louis Stevenson

Today I am grateful...
  • for thunderstorms. Guess you already guessed we had a big one this morning, woke me up with a smile.
  • for fabulous French food at Cafe Rabelais
  • that before dinner, as I parked the car, I was able to offer several prayers of gratitude for my thinking and my feelings being redirected. It worked.
  • that I really want to crawl back in bed instead of going to the 8:30 am meeting, but I am going anyway
  • that today's list gets to be short so I can get out of here

I loathe the expression 'What makes him tick' . . . A person not only ticks, he also chimes and strikes the hour, falls and breaks and has to be put together again, and sometimes stops like an electric clock in a thunderstorm. --James Thurber
