IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

01.07.06

In one form or another, many of my character defects appear daily: self-condemnation, anger, running away, being prideful, wanting to get even, or acting out of grandiosity. Attempting half measures to eliminate these defects merely paralyzes my efforts to change. It is only when I ask God for help, with complete abandon, that I become willing -- and able -- to change. ~Daily Reflections

Today I am grateful...
  • that it is Saturday. New Year's Eve seems forever ago.
  • for yesterday's first step meeting to welcome two to the fellowship. It was filled with experience, strength, hope and gales of laughter.
  • that people come into our lives and people leave our lives
  • that God gave me my mind and not the mind of a really crazy person
  • to reread this post from a year ago
The quickest route to an empty life is to live only for yourself. There is no pain greater than the pain of total self absorption.

In small things and large, use the opportunity of each moment to look and to act beyond your own concerns. The success you create by so doing will be real and superbly fulfilling. -- Ralph Marston

I enjoyed rereading the post from a year ago. Good memories there. Did make me yearn for one of Mom's hugs though.

I too am grateful for that. I already have one crazy friend in my life (or maybe not because I never did reply) I don't need another one...LOL.
I see you,
JJ

Hi there...
I came here by way of Barbara of Californa..and in reading your Profile see that Weetzie Bat is a fovorite book! I have known Francesca since she was a baby! So brilliantly talented she is....! He Dad was a lovely special painter...and, in fact I have some color drawings of his...one of Francesca as a baby....along with many many of his paintings...and I knew him very very well and that's how come I met Francesca at such a young age....

It is a small world, truly! I have been enjoying reading some of your posts and getting to know you a little bit.
