Hey you, if you're really bored take this test.
Dave IMed me this morning and during our chat asked if I wanted to meet for lunch. Sure. Okay. So I piddled around here a bit, removing photos from their nasty cheap plastic page covers and removing the tape from the back. My sister called about 11:30 and we chatted for a bit, she was in the car at Kentucky Oaks Mall while Joe and Steph went in to find some overalls for Steph, only to find out there are no overalls at the mall. Must be a farmer's store around somewhere. We hung up and I showered and called Dave. We decided Baba Yega's was the place to be and I headed out the door. I walked through the restaurant and seeing no sign of Dave decided to wait outside. After ten minutes or so I called him and as I was dialing I heard a tiny splat on the collar of my nylon jacket. There had landed a tiny bird poopie. At least it didn't land on my face or head, right? I went to the car to get a napkin because I have a surplus of fast food ones there.
So since I knew Dave was on his way I got us a table on the front patio. It was a beautiful, sunny day and was warm enough to sit outside. Anyway, while I was waiting in walks a super poseur. Miss Thing had her trendy sunglasses on, ranking of cologne, looking splendidly confusing in gray skin tight turtleneck, short short khaki shorts, bunched up crew socks and Skechers hiking boots. This lovely ensemble was topped off with an orange sweater jauntily tied over her shoulders. After all she was there for brunch! Dave sat with his back to that table so he never got a shot of this confusing fashion statement, but then his gay gene may not have allowed him to see it like I did.
All during lunch I sat on the patio facing my old residence at 1000C Missouri. Garry, So and I lived there in 1979. It was a big luxurious apartment and So and I used to play like the giant empty dining room was a skating rink and would skate in our sock feet. Usually to 'Big Girls Don't Cry'. Also when Mom would visit we would go to Baba Yega's, which became her favorite restaurant here. I have a great picture of her on a cowboy had in the sun room. Since the apartment was right across from the Montrose Mining Company there was a steady thump of disco music. Mom asked So one night what kind of bar that was. So said it was a men's bar. Mom said that's what she thought. I really miss Mom sometimes and I would have loved to be able to take her to her favorite restaurant today.

Awww yes, the old 1000C Missouri house, great place to live. We sometimes entertained ourselves on Saturday and Sunday mornings gazing out the front windows at the winos digging in the dipsty dumpster and turning up tossed out liquor bottles, oh how gross that must have tasted. I also remember the day the man in the wheelchair (homeless man) was passed out on the side of the street right in our front yard. His faithful dog stayed by his side and the Houston PD came by, checked his pulse, decided he was still alive and left him to sleep it off. I guess there wasn't much else they could do but it was very sad. It made me appreciate my life and the fact I had a home to live in. I have much to be thankful for in my lifetime. I have been in situations that I don't know how I lived through them, but somehow God always watched over me. I now have a happy life living in Kansas (Paducah, KY) and have just about all I could want. Life is good.
So
