Philip Johnson, reknowned gay architect, has died at his New Canaan, CT compound. His death was discolosed by his long time companion of 45 years, David Whitney. Mr. Johnson designed many of Houston't outstanding buildings; Penzoil Towers, Transco (now Williams) Tower, main campus and St. Basil's Chapel of St. Thomas University, Republic Bank and others.
