IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

12.07.04

Today I am grateful...

  • for Nag Champa incense
  • for the chips in my pocket--24 hours, one year and a two year (to help me and another make it for another year and keep us spiritually connected)
  • that on any given day, like yesterday, when I am feeling a bit off, surrounding myself with other AAs will life me right up
  • for the holiday gatherings of family, cousins and grandparents in the kitchen on Contest Road
  • that I have a home movie of Christmas '67 with proof that I was as nelly as they come
  • that I do not have to do IT alone
  • that today I will do something about these piles of stuff on my desk, that 'something' has yet to be defined
  • for patience, patience, patience

This Christmas thing has, as usual, gotten my wig all knotted up. I never have the money to go all out, and I never know what to get for the few people with whom I usually exchange gifts. But there is the annual Party on the Bayou Armand and I have in mind a perfectly awful gift for the white elephant round. I have a coupon for three free items from the 99 cent store, but when I was there the other day there were so many people happily shopping that I got too distracted to buy. Where does all that really cheap crap come from? And why was everyone so happy to be there? Oh, all except for the giant skinny queen with the crop top, in deep conversation on his celafone and a Burberry hat jauntily set upon his head...he was throwing shade all over the place.

I have some extra large plastic bags that are made for piles of stuff that sit on a desk too long. If you'd like one, blog me.
