As long as a man stands in his own way, everything seems to be in his way. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
.
Today I am grateful...
  • that things have a way of pretty much being like they are supposed to be
  • that I can be an observer as I notice the world seems to be getting meaner
  • that this day, as in every other day of my 55+ years, I will have what I need
  • that I have a sweet deal these days
  • that I let go, surrendered, and won the pot

The paradox of control is simple. The more we try to control life, theless control we have. ~Joan Borysenko

I don't see a meaner world. Over exposed for sure, but not meaner.

That paradox is great, although with many others I've learned and experience since getting sober (like surrender to win, get free by becoming dependent, etc.)

I'm glad your deal is sweat and you've won your pot.

I don't want to win any pot these days. But I'm still a winner in so many ways.
