IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Be careful of those who imagine themselves to be on the High Road while everyone else is walking the Low. If they really are on the High Road, they will offer to take everyone else with them, not simply tell others that they are going the wrong way. ~I Believe God Wants You to Know

Today I am grateful...
  • for a dark, stormy morning
  • the sound of coffee brewing and the soft hum of the clothes dryer
  • for 1962 days without cocktails and 1373 days without a cigarette
  • for the grace that lets me experience the blessings of today
  • that the truth is revealed to me in small doses so I can comprehend it
  • that the veil of illusion is lifted a little each day through prayer and meditation
  • that I do not have to agree with everyone, in fact I can't

Love that first quote and know how very true that statement is. Our higher power's love is so deep, wide, high and broad...wherever we are on our journey and each day we can open ourselves to let that love in..for ourselves and others...thanks for sharing these inspiring quotes! Have a lovely day!!!

I'm glad that you posted about being sober but not recovered. I see those quite a bit.

Well....I'm recovered. Ya see, I had this bad cold a month ago, and it's now completely gone. THAT'S recovery!

But I might get it again next year--THAT'S relapse?

I'm likin' that first quotation.

It's been a weird day, otherwise.

Nice post and I will keep your friend's hound in my thoughts as well.

Those "bedevilments" are also known as the true test of the opposite of sobriety. When I get a sponsee who's pretty sure they're getting along w/out a program, we start down the list and think about their recent lives.
