I have learned this at least by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. ~Henry David Thoreau

Today I am grateful...
- for a finely crafted share yesterday about the devastation an alcoholic can live through, coming and going through the doors of AA, and still survive
- to walk on the sober side of the street which I have kept clean
- that I have things to do today and not one of them includes stopping by the liquor store
- because I can celebrate today instead of dealing with the haze of a hangover
- for spiritual connections with others
Simplicity is the keynote of a good life. Choose the simple things always. Life can become complicated if you let it be so. You can be swamped by difficulties if you let them take up too much of your time. Every difficulty can be either solved or ignored and something better substituted for it. Love the humble things of life. Reverence the simple things. Your standard must never be the world's standard of wealth and power. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day

I'm grateful that after I used a big ol' back hoe to clean my side of the street, I can maintain it with a whisk broom.
I love how hoe has multiple meanings.
Ima Hoe? Ura Hoe? Who ordered the veal cutlet?
I love that HDT quote, so beautiful!
Is that a smudge on your side of the street, or just a discoloration in the asphalt?
I've been swamped by a few difficulties lately, but I'm getting back to Keeping it Simple.
Whoa hoe.
