IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

I don't have a drinking problem today, I have a sobriety problem. If I pick up a drink, I've got a whole new problem. - Barney M.
.
Today I am grateful...
  • that Pam wrote "best of our ability improves immensely as we stay sober"
  • that today I am not flat on my back (see quote below)
  • for hope that my sister and clan won't be the ones expected to get their power back in the middle of February
  • that I have so many choices today and a fairly clear head with which to make them
  • that I am in acceptance that what I had to go through to get here was what it was. Now I am here and have a life that is satisfying.

We heard no more of Fred for a while. One day we were told that he was back in the hospital. This time he was quite shaky. He soon indicated he was anxious to see us. The story he told is most instructive, for here was a chap absolutely convinced he had to stop drinking, who had no excuse for drinking, who exhibited splendid judgment and determination in all his other concerns, yet was flat on his back nevertheless. ~BB, pg. 40

My daughter in Louisville just called crying. They have been told it will be 7 days before the power is back. It's cold & she is worried about the pipes freezing. There is no propane to be found in the city.

The Barney M. quote is awesome. I hope your family isn't with out power too much longer. (Hugs)Indigo

My problems in sobriety are based on reality rather than the confabulations of the gin-soaked brain.

I'm not flat on my back but have been sitting way too much these past few days. Meetings do that to me--make me want to get off my butt.

I hope that Trail Boss is okay. I'm hoping that she has a generator. Let us know how things are going there.

Joe called me today when he was in town--they have no land line and no cell phone reception, but he got reception in town. They are probably without electricity until sometime next week.
