IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

When you are lying you are only half alive, because of the fear of being found out. When you come into A.A., and get honest with yourself and with other people, that terrible load of lying falls off your shoulders. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day
.
Today I am grateful...
  • that someone with whom I used to ride the school bus found me through Facebook. It was bus #49 with its spray painted black polka dots covering the entire back side and driven by Mrs. Rudolph. She wrote "we rode the bus from Hell together". It was. We hated it. But she could turn her eyelids inside out and that made it a little more tolerable. Thanks, Jill.
  • that a lot of that shame I carried back then has been lifted
  • for a great evening last night of an art exhibit at HCC Main Campus (which truly inspired me) and dinner and conversation afterwards
  • that it will be an adventure to see what special stuff today holds for me
  • that the winter ice storm will miss us in South Texas. Y'all Northerners take care!

Nobody has the competence or understanding to tell us how we should live, nor should we try to control other people. We have a big job to do in overcoming our own problems. We have neither the time nor the wisdom to run other people's lives. ~Walk in Dry Places

I liked riding the school bus in 7th grade because Karen and Rudy made out in the back seat everyday and I loved watching them.
I love it when I see some art that inspires me!

Terrorized by a school bus, eh? That explains a lot of things.

PS Extend my apoligy to MR
Bunny. On second look, he is very manly.

I must be a freak of nature, I'm actually looking forward to the oncoming snowstorms. Yes, plural...The big one is tomorrown morning and we have a 50%chance of snow or more each day for the rest of the week into Sunday. I have plenty of tea on hand, the pelletstove fire roaring...bring it on. Of course my goofy sidekick Pickles will expect us to be out in the midst of it, running like wolves. (Hugs)Indigo

Facebook is the place. Glad that you found the spotted bus. I didn't like riding the bus much. There were mean bus drivers.

Did Mrs. Rudolph paint the back of the bus? It sounds kinda kooky to have polka dots on a school bus. You must have gone to one of those weird, experimental private schools.

What you began with--honesty, that's my wonderful miracle! What an albatross that lying was! And it is now gone...how seldom I think of THAT miracle. Thank you for the reminder...another of those gifts which have set me FREE!
