IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear. ~Martin Luther King, Jr
,
Today I am grateful...
  • that meetings keep my tear ducts working
  • for Boston's powerful lead at yesterday's Came to Believe meeting
  • that today I can ask for what I want or need, I do not have to accept things exactly as they are if another way may benefit me more
  • that today I remain in amazement that I was willing to do the work to get and stay sober
  • that my thoughts have been rearranged from those of a crazy alcoholic to those of a sober man in recovery

As an alcoholic I was selfish and demanding, wanting my way all the time. Sobriety teaches me that "the way" must include others; my fellow men are part of my life and journey. I cannot live in isolation and be sober. ~Fr Leo

I have to agree that lots of times meetings keep my tear ducts working too.

Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change.

That's the promise that we discussed at this morning's meeting. I must have overlooked you. Were you sitting over near the fireplace?
