IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Never make the mistake of taking more credit than is due or less credit than you are worth. ~Fr Leo
.
Today I am grateful...
  • that I rarely have headaches anymore. This morning I have one that is persistently hanging on.
  • for my simple life. I like it when things are uncomplicated.
  • to be no where near as hard headed as I used to be
  • that I love the program of Alcoholics Anonymous
  • for the freedoms AA and recovery give me
  • for "the power to carry that out"
"When you stand outside a room where a group of Alcoholics Anonymous is meeting, the most frequent sound you hear is laughter. Mellow laughter, which can come only from people who have looked destruction and catastrophe in the face, not once but continuously over long years, and now are free and unafraid. The laughter, in short, of people who hold God's hand and feel safe." ~Letter to a Woman Alcoholic (A.A. Pamphlet P-14) - page 13

The last line of your "dots" is the BEST gift I have right now.
I'm sorry your noggin is aching. Maybe you could lay back down.

We laughed a lot in this morning's meeting.

Headache, begone!
Lay down. Lay down. Lay it all down, Scott.

If your headache is still hanging on, let it drop.

I do think that AA's have more fun at their meetings than Al-Anons. We can be a glum lot sometimes.

I remember the first time I bruised my leg bumping into something...It wasn't a bruise given by an abusive ex, it wasn't something that happened with me stumbling around trying to find the bed after a night of drinking.

It was simply a bruise...nothing more, and I smiled the biggest smile. I can imagine even with the tediousness of dealing with the headache the knowledge that it's simply that a headache not brought on by a night of drinking...still gives you pause for a smile. (Hugs)Indigo

I love the laughter in and out of the rooms. I am very grateful to the people who were there in the beginning laughing and hugging ☺

I LOVE that quote about the laughter. Isn't that the truth!

And what Syd said... when I went to Alanon, it was in a room next to an AA meeting, I would be so jealous when I would hear their raucous laughter.

Yep, I've been there--to hell-and have climbed out from that muddy slime
and now laughter is my trademark. It is what God likes to hear, I hope!!!

Thanks, Scott for the reminder of what we're really like....
