IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Man cannot remake himself without suffering. For he is both the marble and the sculptor. ~ Alexis Carrel

Today I am grateful...
  • for comment moderation
  • to be sober amongst the sober
  • that I wound up, after all, in the winner's circle
  • that one of the things recovery has given me is self-confidence, because when I was drinking I couldn't hold my head up straight. I was always looking at the ground.
  • that I am in acceptance that what I had to go through to get here was what it was. Now I am here and have a life that is satisfying.

There is no stronger bond of friendship than a mutual enemy.~Frankfort Moore.

.

A.A. is a fellowship united against the same enemy--alcoholism. Our bonds give us strength to recover. We may not even know each other's last name, but we'll do anything to help each other stay sober. Our illness has taken much. But it has also given us much. We have millions of new friends. Almost anywhere in the world, we can find a member of our fellowship. Our new way of life depends on the strength of the fellowship. We should do nothing to weaken it. When you don't feel like going to a meeting--go, not only for yourself but for the sake of the fellowship. It truly needs you. ~Keep It Simple

Sounds like you got hit from our friend down under.

Your posts always give me a sense of peace. I like that you are able to enjoy the little, simple things in life and that you find gratitude in just about everything. I have learned a lot from you Scott and will be forever grateful! Happy Saturday.

I just read that an estimated 5 million people attend either AA or NA. Now that indicates a program that works!

ooooooooh, I really loved that last reading Scott, I appreciate your blog and all you share!!!! and YOU are right, I too have to be careful to not beat myself up... I am not trying to, just making changes and looking at things, but I too can subtly beat myself up... thank you for reminding me ☺ ♥
