We are always responsible for our own sobriety. Beyond that, we're also responsible for maintaining good attitudes and making sure that our own anger and pride do not make any situation worse than it already is. ~Walk in Dry Places

Today I am grateful...
- that I was out and about during the snow event last night. Texans DO NOT know how to drive in snow. But it sure was purty!
- for dinner at Dharma Cafe with an old friend and now fellow artiste
- that I can approach today with no resentments
- that I, along with many, fight a different war, a war which seeks freedom from the bondage of self
- that as much as I hate artificial heat, I sure am grateful that my home comes equipped with a heater
It's easy to take many things in our life for granted: health, the presence of a loved one in our life, friends, food, even sobriety and recovery. When life proceeds smoothly, it's easy to take the ordinary for granted. Look at the ordinary in your life. How would you feel if it was taken away? Don't just be grateful for successes. Be grateful for and celebrate the ordinary in your world. ~The Language of Letting Go

oh it's a powerful bondage sometimes isn't it?
I wish "me" would just take a break sometimes!
The top quote really struck a cord with me today - I am gonna share it with my husband.
Thanks for posting!

Joe told me that it snowed in Houston. I couldn't help but chuckle just thinking about how horrible Houstonians drive in the snow. Of course they are not used to it and freak out.
I remember when I lived in Alvin and it snowed about 1 1/2" which was quite a bit for Texas. It was on a Monday and the school DID have class but cancelled the next day when the snow was gone. I am still scratching my head over that one.
Hear ya bro..with the last quote.
Your heater actually provides REAL heat.
And I like your bondage phrase too.
I think celebrating the ordinary is a great idea. I also celebrate my tragedies. They taught me a lot.
my my this snow thing sure has you texans amazed hee hee we get that way here too. it is very pretty
You feel the same way about heat that I do about air conditioning. Good thing we both live where we live.
The bondage of self. Oh My. Just when I think I'm free, I find my left brain locking my right brain back into those damned chains.
