IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

We give so that we know we can make a difference. We give so that we can know how to love better. The healing power of recovery is love. As we give love and kindness to others, we heal. Why? Because people grow by giving kindness and love to others. ~Keep It Simple
.
Today I am grateful...
  • I can admit I took everyone I had in my 'following' department and removed them all. I read blogs on their respective pages and not from my dashboard so it was just unnecessary clutter. I do well with less clutter. So, sorry about that.
  • that a friend that cannot stay clean contacted me last night and is pretty much at his last straw. I seriously spoke to him about rehab and have said some serious prayers this morning that he finds his way.
  • for the sobriety I have under my belt and the strength it has given me
  • that last night I finished the third in my series of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. I need to photograph it and post but it's so dreary today and there is not much natural light. (See above. I photographed it but the light isn't right making the color wrong, too. I will shoot it again with better light another day.)
  • that it really feels like winter today

Because we are all mirrors for each other, looking at the people in your life can tell you a lot about yourself. Who you are can be laid bare to you through what you see in others. It is easy to see the traits you do not like in others. It is much more difficult to realize that you possess those same traits. Often, the habits, attitudes, and behaviors of others are closely linked to our unconscious and unresolved issues. ~Daily Om

How true, Scott W! Whenever someone has a trait or behavior which I do not like, the chances are about 100% that I am guilty of those same things which disturb me.

Now, I only got to remember that! -grin.

Thanks.

Dear Scott,

I truly hope your friend will get the help He needs. So sad to watch our friends struggle and resist.

I look forward to seeing your new painting - it sounds exciting

Love you,

There's a few more straws at Luby's in case he wants to get one there.

I hope that the friend will get help in rehab. It's a tough time of year for many.

It feels strangely like March here today: drizzly, overcast, breezy, and balmy.
I thought you would want to know that.

I'm praying for your friend. The idea of surrendering to recovery is frightening to us, even as surrendering to the addition is seductive. Truth and untruth become indistinguishable.

Time to pat Bunny on the head.

Re the last quote. What about family? You can't get them out of your life. Sometimes they are totally toxic and you still have to be around them. Just sayin'

The wisdom of the Daily Om. Yes it is a wintry day. We had snow out here in Spring from 4:30 - %:45. I took pictures.
