Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. ~Melody Beattie
.
Today I am grateful...
- that today is my seventh sober Thanksgiving in a row
- that I woke this morning with a stopped up head and a semi-sore throat that is probably more allergies than a cold
- for carrying on with recovery. Not resting on laurels, not taking anything for granted.
- that my 'monkey mind' is a lot quieter than it used to be
- that solution based usually trumps fear based
- that I am hungry, my stomach is growling, and that means I an not hungover and being repulsed by food
- that sometimes what it takes is paying more attention
- that sometimes all Bunny wants is a pat on the head. Sometimes that's all I want too.
- for the determination of those who keep coming back, no matter what
- that I can put a negative or positive spin on just about anything
- that this morning none of the furniture has mysteriously moved
- that regardless of belief, a spiritual being is still a spiritual being
- to be infinitely lovable by the One
Dear Lord; we beg but one boon more:
Peace in the hearts of all men living,
peace in the whole world this Thanksgiving. ~Joseph Auslander
