IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Self-pity is one of the most dangerous forms of self-centeredness. It fogs our vision. ~Kathy S.
.
Today I am grateful...
  • that it's not a manic Monday
  • for yesterday's meeting on grief. Some people needed to hear it, some didn't.
  • that DS made his usual call at 8AM and I just happened to check my book to make sure my Dr appointments were today and tomorrow. They aren't. Happens they are next week.
  • for 'D'OH!' moments
  • that the city finally hauled off the huge mounds of debris from our street
Sometimes we get stuck in our own way of seeing things. We may feel as if everything that happens, happens to us or for us. If it rains, we may think about our ruined picnic and not about the dry fields that need the rain. We need to focus on the big picture. This keeps us from becoming self-centered. If it rains, we’ll gather indoors and be glad for the farmers. When we do our part, things go well. When we don’t we feel it. Every else feels it too. Self pity keeps us from doing our part. ~Keep It Simple

I drove down a few streets last night that are still piled high with debris!
The meeting I went to last night --the topic was "story-telling"...what the hell?

when we do our part things go well......I like that. We still have LOTS of debris here from Ike. The city is picking it up but it is taking forever. Going to cost the city $100,000 just for this pickup.

story telling?

It takes forever to recover from big events... I know it takes forever to clean up after a blizzard.

Now can we talk about me?

Story telling--does that mean lying? Or maybe it means how to tell your story? Not sure but lying might be a good topic.
