This day I am grateful...
- that it is a rare day that I get lonely
- that I no longer have to lie to cover anything about my life--freeing up much space
- for a restful weekend in which I finished a piece (see post before last) and started another
- that being human gives me the right to be happy, joyous and free
- that God has blessed me with multiple talents
- that today feels good
I lied to impress. I lied to hide my guilt and shame. I lied to cover my mistakes. I lied to bridge the silence. I lied to fantasize. I lied to hurt and destroy. I lied to hide the real me. Then I lied to cover the lies. Then I lied to cover the lies I told to cover the original lies! So it went on. Endless. Exhausting. Meaningless. A part of me always loathed the lies I told. Then I grew to hate myself. ~Fr Leo

I love the Fr. Leo quote "I lied to bridge the silence" - that one always dumbfounded me, when I would do it.
I'm glad you have many talents also my friend.
Roses are like God. I cannot describe the smell of a rose to you but we can both know what a rose smells like. Smell the roses and smell God.

That last quote sounds like you are speaking directly to Ryan.
There are some days that loneliness occurs but at least I know that I'm never really alone.
I think the lie quote resonates with each & every person.It certainly frees up a lot of energy not to do that.

Never read that Leo quote. Consider it ripped....I'd be lying otherwise!
I lied to a priest once. Yeah I know. I was little. I was in Confession, I didn't have anything to confess, so I decided to make up something. I said I lied two times. When the priest asked me what I lied about, I lied again and said I didn't remember. I think I got two Our Fathers and three Hail Mary's for that...
