Truth has little need of elaborate explanation. The fewer words you can use, the more meaning they have. Speak what you know to be true and there will be no need to hide your thoughts behind your words. Speak clearly, truthfully, with respect and humility. From the truth of who you are, comes the best of what you say. ~Ralph Marston
This day I am grateful...
- that I have never been one to believe all I hear
- that I strive to use as few words as possible to convey my thoughts
- that the podiatrist will take care of my ingrown toenail today. I always try to cut them correctly and make sure the edges are filed as they should. Somehow this one escaped my attention and this situation happened. It is painful, but fortunately it hasn't kept me from walking comfortably. It just needs to go away!
- that I am sorry if that above bullet grossed you out
- for an IM chat with a friend who has been out for quite a while and has not had a good time using again. He has about a week clean and I hope to see him soon and give him a big hug.
- that gratitude will chase away just about any negative emotion
Learning acceptance in sobriety is part of the growing-up process. Along with learning to accept things we cannot change, however, we learn there are some things we don't have to accept. Living sober gives us the power and confidence to make such changes. ~Walk in Dry Places

I love toenail stories. Especially good ones.
I wasn't grossed out at all. I'm like Daave in that I like toenail stories. Shall you give us the details of the extraction of the said ingrown item?
Will you have a big, bloody bunch of gauze covering it? If so, please elaborate tomorrow.
ick.
Put up some photos of the toenail operation. At least there isn't a fungus that is eating away your toes.
My sponsor told me a story where she tried to communicate in a conflict with 10 words or less. I found that interesting. Good luck with that toe.
Thanks for the Marsten. The sperm art reminded me of a joke. I may have it on my blog later. Best of luck with the Toe. I'm surprised Daave did not ask you if you were calling the Toe Truck.
It takes a lot to gross me out. Like the time when... lol.
Nice to see I found the real blog and not the test blog today. How odd!
Still waiting for the details of the nail extraction. Dave said earlier we could exhale, how 'bout you?
patiently waiting for your toe update! LOL....I vote for pics too!
