...a false word, a fear-inspired failure, a harsh criticism, a stubborn resentment. These are the things that put a distance between your mind and God. A word of love, a selfless reconciliation, a kind act of helpfulness--these bring God closer. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Today I am grateful...
- for a relaxing Sunday. Meeting, brunch, nap, painting, nap, dinner, TV.
- that we will watch tropical storm Fay to see how it affects Florida as we are supposed to visit Palm Springs Thur-Fri to visit a yacht we are redecorating
- that now I make my choices instead of back in the day when my alcoholism made them
- that, as Bill W said, I have been given a quiet place in bright sunshine
- for the mysteries of a sober life to which I don't need the answers
The only real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes. ~Marcel Proust

hi.
Don't you know some folks that live in Palm Beach? Seems like I remember you talking about them years ago.
I hope you're able to make your trip later this week! J
Thanks for taking the time, each day, to put up quotes and comments.
They are often what I need to hear.
Hope you can post some pics of the yacht, like the ones of the house a few months back.
You know bloggers are all voyeurs also.
I'm sorry....but I would be the one cussing the damn storm for interfering with my plans!
The great part....my Mothers name is Faye ;)
Well actually it's Eleanor, but that's another story.
"...a quiet place in a bright sunshine". yeh, that's the ticket.
Scott W, I ALL-ALWAYS enjoy your daily entries. Seventy years ago -grin-, my Blind father used to say, "A good blog is like a relative's visit: Short and Sweet, is Hard to Beat!" (As you maybe know by now, I did not take his advice!)
And to me, 'Short and Sweet' describes your efforts, and I read you every day. Thank you.
Steve E.
Yeah, I want to see pictures of your yacht too.
