Happiness is all about milking the "sacred nows." ~Robert Holden
Today I am grateful...
- for the direct experience I had yesterday of knowing I have been paying attention during my almost five years of sobriety
- that today I can pay a bill when it arrives and not worry about getting it paid on time
- that sobriety has made me much less superstitious than before
- for a great meeting with my sponsor yesterday and our long chat about double digit sobriety. My next project is reading the stories in the back of the Big Book. I wondered what he had in store for me.
- for evidence that God does for us what we cannot do for ourselves
We don't control which loved ones come into our lives and which ones go or whether we become ill or stay healthy. We don't control life's opportunities. We can control how we choose to respond to these transitions. Whatever happens can be used for growth and we can commit ourselves to use all experiences that way. ~Touchstones

Amen, Brother!
Some of those stories after page 164 are superb. I've been fortunate enough to read them numerous times at the Eyes Wide Shut meeting the past 4 years.
I'm glad that I've never been bound by superstitions. My parents were very anti-superstitious...hmmmm I need to ask Mother about that. It's never crossed my mind before now to ask.
paying bills on or before due dates is a wonderful thing!
"sacred nows"
not for me, something might happen later.
Don't be too hard on us double-digiters... we are still recovering too.
The stories in the BB are good. Lots of good stuff there and always something crops out every time I read that book. It's like it is re-created for my eyes every time I read it.
