IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

When I was driven to my knees by alcohol, I was made ready to ask for the gift of faith. And all was changed. Never again, my pains and problems notwithstanding, would I experience my former desolation. I saw the universe to be lighted by God's love; I was alone no more. ~Bill W
Today I am grateful...
  • today I have some focus. I can concentrate on living my life, instead of the old days where I was hell bent on destroying it.
  • that we are all healers when we offer our hand
  • for trust in a Higher Power that sustains my life and sustains my future. I don't have to worry about it.
  • that I have a life of privilege many do not get to experience
  • that I have friends that get the joke, some even make up the joke!
Work with anybody who wants help, and let leaders appear as they will. The leaders, whom we call trusted servants, were sometimes very ordinary people in the eyes of the world. Some were like Bill W., people of great ability whose careers had been wrecked by alcoholism. In any case, it is obvious that we are poor judge of who might become a key person. In the sight of God, we're told, all humans are equal. Our best success comes when we treat every newcomer as a key person. ~Walk in Dry Places

God bringing me to my knees (by way of my son) has transformed my life also. I remember how I used to hurry through every day taking care of me, me, me.

"I saw the universe to be lighted by God's love"

God's universe, not mine, not me.

I was brought to my knees and know I am walking or trudging the road of Happy Destiny. Veal Cutlets? Hell, I ordered the pie.

"friends that get the joke"...amen.

Today, in an AA mtg. I shared that I thought a sense of humor was essential in our journey...especially the ability to laugh at myself.
