Throughout the journey from birth to death, many people choose to question life, strive for improvement, seek out knowledge, and search for the divine. Simply put, this is the essence of spirituality. One's spiritual practice can take on many forms, because embracing the spiritual is a very personal pursuit. While many people do relate their spirituality to a God or Goddess, this quest for the divine, or oneness with the universe, always springs from within. It doesn't matter where you find your spiritual path. We are all fundamentally spiritual beings and the essence of that lies in knowing one's true self and finding a peace that comes from within rather than the outside world. It is in remembering this that we awaken to our personal path. ~Daily Om
Today I am grateful...
- for a healthy spiritual life
- that I realized early on in sobriety that I have to live a slow paced life to stay serene
- that my serenity is second on my list after sobriety
- that I am stronger than any of my circumstances as long as I have my Higher Power with me
Religion places great emphasis on outer forms and outer rituals. These are helpful for giving a sense of formality to the worship of God. But spirituality is not concerned with outer rituals. Spirituality says that what is important is a seeker’s inner attitude. Through practicing spirituality we seek to develop an inner shrine in our own heart. ~Sri Chinmoy

Thanks, Scott, for putting your posts together. They often speak to me. Today's post seemed to resonate, telling me it's okay to slow down and let God.
For years I pondered that third paragraph on Page 55 in BB, about where ONLY God may be found--I'm gonna go blog it now, B4 I forget!
Thank you Scott, for a grteat reminder of how really SIMPLE it all is!
