IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

07.17.08

When we show up for our life, we are actively participating in being a happy person, achieving our goals, and generally living the life our soul really wants. If we need healing, we begin the process of seeking out those who can help us heal. If we need experience, we find the places and opportunities that can give us the experience we need in order to do the work we want to do in the world. Whatever we need, we look for it, and when we find it, we engage in the process of letting ourselves have it. When we do this kind of work, we become lively, confident, and passionate individuals. ~today's DailyOm
Today I am grateful...
  • that I am being taught to be flexible. I was not supposed to have any work today, so I slept late. Then a phone call has me somewhere by 9 AM.
  • that I take the time to be alone and communicate with my HP every morning
  • to have a purpose to life instead of running blindly away from fear
  • that as the world gets meaner, and more difficult to live in, the spiritual rebirth I have received due to working a program of recovery continues to bring me peace
We deserve the best life and love has to offer, but we are each faced with the challenge of learning to identify what that means in our life. We must each come to grips with our own understanding of what we believe we deserve, what we want, and whether we are receiving it. There is only one place to start, and that is right where we are, in our current circumstances. The place we begin is with us. ~The Language of Letting Go

I spent my entire life running from fear before God plopped me down in the middle of our beautiful program.

I can only pray that Ryan gets to that place in his life.

Flexibility is key.

I see that you live in the same city as Pam. I was blown away last night to find that she is the sister-in-law of one of my sponsees. What are the odds of that happening with all the blogs out there? Must be an HP thing.
I enjoy your posts.

Sleeping late is good. I need to get to bed earlier these days. I don't like that the world is getting meaner and more difficult. It doesn't bode well for those of us who are not mean or difficult.

It never seemed to work when I started with other people, and determined how they should change.

Dammit.

I'm still toying with the idea about having a higher power. Right now I think I'm working on being accountable to others and giving to/receiving help from others. I'm grateful that my friend invited me out to dinner, I'm grateful for my pottery class, and I'm grateful for an idea I got in a meeting at work and more grateful that I got to leave work early after the meeting. I'm also grateful that I at least get to think about the idea of a higher power. have a good day (:

I love that the 12 step program is something everyone can glean from and improve their life. It's changing mine, day by day, and allowing me to come to know so many phenomenal people.

Blessings.
