We recovered alcoholics are not so much brothers in virtue as we are brothers in our defects, and in our common strivings to overcome them. ~As Bill Sees It
Today I am grateful...
- for new blogger J-Online
- that my dream about being a waiter last night was far from reality
- for comment moderation--unfortunately we all have to use it now
- that so many of us were hurt and wounded animals who now have this glorious moment in which to live
- that things are not like I was taught earlier in life
- that my Higher Power shows me how to keep my side of the street clean
It has been said that we should "wear the world like a loose garment." That means nothing should seriously upset us because we have a deep, abiding faith that God will always take care of us. To us that means not to be too upset by the surface wrongness of things, but to feel deeply secure in the fundamental goodness and purpose in the universe. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Learning to keep my side of the street clean has been the single most valuable lesson that the program has taught me.
Oh, please bring me a re-fill on my tea, and check under my plate when I leave, I'm leaving you a $100.00 tip.
Keep my side of the street clean..I love it. Thanks to your prompting, I went back inside & got my broom before I left for work today:)
The surface wrongness of things, keeps me in fear. Trusting that the purpose my Higher Power is the best way to go is something I am learning, day by day.
I should keep that concept (from 24 hours) permanently affixed to my arm.
You stated everything so well, shucks, I just cannot think of anything to add, except...Thank You!

Yeah, that's the ticket, fundamental goodness and purpose.
I feel so good now. I had a rough morning, went to lunch, read your post and decided to start the day over. :)
Thank you, my blogger amigo.
