Here is something I did last night as a donation for the Houston Round Up Casino Night (this coming Saturday). It really isn't so yellow--I didn't use a flash. With your winnings you get to 'buy' stuff.
Today I am grateful...
- for respectful friendships
- for my surprise Sunday morning after what I thought was a particularly good meeting to hear others say it was dreadful
- that not every day I see things the same way, in the same light
- that as I was painting last night the television was delivering 'Britney's Secret Childhood'. Talk about being grateful for my own life!
- for a sober life and the ability to create it as it suits me
...but He is also alive in literature, scripture, sexuality and music. Today I can hear beyond the symphony into the unfathomable message of God's love for His creation. And always I hear something different and new. ~Fr Leo

I'm starting to use your quotes for daily meditation--and I never meditated before!
I had the same thoughts about Sunday morning. Funny how we can hear the same things in different ways. Maybe it has something to do with where our head is at.
See! I can end a sentence in a preposition!!
lol yea I feel for briney...
and I am like you, I tend to see things a bit differntly than my fellows... lol have a superb day!
I am so grateful that we get to create our own sober life as well. I was at the mercy of everything and everyone when I got here.
Wow... that's awesome, Scott. I love your penmanship. And how it's not perfect, but unified (the colors, the "scratchy" effect on the triangle, etc). Very cool and artistic but yet simple. :)
I thought you might appreciate this... we're having a similar shindig and it's called "Summer Sicker than Others". Haha.
It always amazes me how differently we can perceive an AA meeting.
I love to see someone as talented as you are become sober. It belays the myth that you have to be schnockered to be creative...as one of my sons believes.
Amazing art! I love your newest piece! Jenn
I love, love, love that. Just beautiful!
I can haz art for mi nu awfiss?
I'm glad you could find the message in the Sunday meeting, even when others could not.
Mixed perceptions keep life interesting.
