Love is like a brilliantly glowing candle. If you step into its presence and ignite your own candle from the flame, there is not less light, but more. We are not meant to hoard light, but to shine and share it by becoming love in action.--Mary Manin Morrissey
Today I am grateful...
  • for the dinner last night celebrating Lambda Center's 30th Anniversary and the play following depicting the hospitality suite at the International AA Conference in New Oleans in 1980. Lambda hosted the first gay hospitality suite and was recognized by GSO. From that there are over 2,000 gay AA meetings nationwide.
  • for my new monitor. It is taking some getting used to because it is so big and bright.
  • that this morning I am having breakfast with an old friend
  • to be inspired by small things
  • that I can be present during conversation, which differs from the old days by not concentrating on what I will say next
Kindle my heart's flame with thy flame
May thy light banish darkness forever

Aren't these new monitors amazing???

I have a widescreen and I can put two webpages up side by side... Very handy for blogging, and hyperlinking...

I have a friend of over 45 years and when I shared with him that I had joined AA he informed me that he'd been in it for years. When I visited him and his partner in 2006 in San Francisco he took me to a gay/lesbian AA meeting and, wouldn't you know, they asked me to be the speaker ! It was quite a trip to be a 73 yr. old, straight woman telling my story to that varied and sophistocated group. They treated me as a long lost mother...very touching.

hee hee -I thought you said you were trying to get used to your new mentor. I felt left out, because I did not know you had a new mentor.
