IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Progress always involves risk; you can't steal second base and keep your foot on first. ~Frederick Wilcox
Today I am grateful...
  • for this blog and that my 2,000th post slipped by me the other day
  • that occasionally I can close my eyes and no thought occurs
  • that this morning, sitting here, I can find absolutely no reason to have any fear
  • that I am studying the concept of the tradition behind the 11th step, spirituality. There is some great stuff on the internets* about it.

Could I have been more patient? Was I intolerant? Did I insist on having my own way? Was I afraid? As my defects are revealed, I put self-reliance aside and humbly ask God to remove my shortcomings. The situation may not change, but as I practice exercising humility, I enjoy the peace and serenity which are the natural benefits of placing my reliance in a power greater than myself. ~Daily Reflections

* this is not a mistake, since our president pluralized it so do I. Spellcheck doesn't like it, though.

Scott, sometimes I neglect commenting to you. I owe my blogging life to you, as you were my original inspiration. I truly appreciate your posts each day and often copy the quotes them and send them out in email to my Friends of Bill W. They all think I'm brilliant, so thanks! ;-)

Love to you today.

That's awesome that you have no fear. I'll be glad to be there. I'm new to sobriety (almost two months)... so I'm barely getting used to everything. Feeling emotions, dealing with life on life's terms, etc.
Your blog is very inspiring to me.

BTW, I didn't realize the president said "internets"... that is hilarious. :)

Kimizzy, I didn't say I didn't have any fear, just that I can find no rational reason to have fear.

Wow!
A baseball reference AND a Bush reference. All in one day. It's nearly too much for me to handle.

My fears aren't rational. I know that but they still sneak up on me.

Spellchecks don't like internets, huh. I guess it's okay as long as you don't start using nuculear.

hello I just started a blog dealing with my alcoholism. http://mbbda.blogspot.com/
I've been clean for four days now! I have an appointment a week from today for outpatient rehab. Your blog is the first blog I found while searching for blogs from people in recovery. I really like how you list the things your grateful for! I hope you don't mind if I do that on my blog. Very nice!

Fear sucks! I could go over some acronyms LOL but I wont. I know what you mean though... I dig. Hope you are having a great day

I hope one day that I can close my eyes and turn off all thoughts.

I always learn something from your blog. I had no idea that we had more than one internet. Do you always use the same one? Perhaps I should try a couple of the other internets, just to compare. Thank you for sharing your former governor with the entire world. You can have him back early if you like.

I am grateful for the internets that brought me to all you wonderful bloggers.

Gratitude: That implies humility and a killing of pride, things I'll work on forever. Thanks for one MORE excellent site/posting. I'm grateful for Whoever brought me here!
