Alcohol does not feed, alcohol does not build, it only borrows from the future and it ultimately destroys. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Today I am grateful...
- for Bill's gentle nudge to get me back towards center
- that it's progress, not perfection
- that there is much beauty in each of us
- that it's not the load that breaks me down...it's the way I carry it
- to see others I watched get sober reach their milestones, as they seem to propel me forward
The best way to express gratitude ... is to "pass on" the good that has come to us. This is more effective when we share ideas and experiences that have helped us on the way to self-improvement. It's also a good idea to dismiss thoughts and statements that are forms of prideful boasting. Even telling people how hard we've worked for the 12 Step program can detract from our gratitude. And never, under any circumstances, should we put others under obligation to us. ~Walk in Dry Places

Thank you for providing me with my "point to ponder" for the day..."that it's not the load that breaks me down...it's the way I carry it"
I like the idea of passing on gratitude. It's as if a gratitude chain forms from one person to the next.
Yes.
Good quotes.
Good Morning Scott! I love that book a walk in dry places or what you have shared from it!!! have a great day
Thanks for that quote about boastfulness about how hard we have "worked" for sobriety. that is one of my pet peeves. If I had the power to create my own sobriety, I would have done it years before it created the devastation it did.
