Progress, not perfection. No matter how long you have been in recovery, no matter how long you have worked the steps, you will never raise above the level of human being. ~Pocket Sponsor
Today I am grateful...
- that the long, involved dream I had this morning in which I decided to drink (scotch, blech! Never!) and dreaded facing the group was just a dream
- that I slept until way after 8AM
- for spiritual awakenings that put me on the other side of the door
- that after that door closes I cannot back through it
Time is nature's way of keeping everything from happening at once. ~unknown
Time always seems to pass too slowly or too quickly for us. We want the fun times to last longer. We want the boring or painful times to go faster. But times goes at just the right pace. Any faster, and we wouldn't have enough time to learn as we go. Any slower, and we'd lose interest. In our program, we learn to respect the pace of time. We let go, and we let time go at its own pace. We call this patience. ~Keep It Simple

It is wonderful to awaken and realize it was only a dream.
I love my weird dreams. They're so entertaining, even when they're scary.
Do you ever know you're dreaming in the midst of a dream? The first time that happened to me was when I was little. Remember Dark Shadows? I dreamed I was in Barnabus Collins Land, a cheesy theme park. It was very boring, and I was frustrated because I knew I was dreaming but I couldn't wake up.
Thanks for letting me blog within your blog. Now you know how I felt in Barnabus Collins Land.
There must have been something in the universe last night. All 3 of us had really strange dreams last night. Sure glad that was just a dream, and scotch...YUK

i'm glad it was just a dream, too. and i got a lot from the quotes on time. when i'm at work, i totally watch the clock all day. once i get home, i don't even look at it again until i'm tired.
Thanks for reminding me of my old AA friend Harry W. who passed away 8 years ago. He had about 35 yrs of sobriety and would always Quote that phrase about "Time is nature's way of keeping everything from happening at once".
I remember there was a time that I hated to hear that ! Now it makes perfect sense.
