. . .and I prayed I wouldn't drink anymore! But I did, when I reached college age. Much later, when I progressed to full-blown alcoholism, people told me I should quit. Like most other alcoholics I have known, I did quit drinking at various times--once for ten months on my own and during other interludes when I was hospitalized. It's no great trick to stop drinking; the trick is to stay stopped. To do that, I had to come to A.A. to learn how to handle sobriety--which is what I could not handle in the first place. That's why I drank. ~Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th edition, p. 553
Today I am grateful...
- that Dave nor I will probably meet Jason Voorhees today
- that even though I am a little bit superstitious, 13 does not bother me
- that I was a tiny bit successful last night in fighting my huge desire to pout
- for shopaholics and their duplicate purchases, yesterday I got Annie Lennox's new CD. It's quite good.
- that my Higher Power guides me to nourish and protect this gift of sobriety I have been so freely given

You may have been more than just a tiny bit successful last night. I didn't trip over your lower lip when I left the house for my meeting this morning.
If you do see Jason today, take him to a meeting.
goood Morning Scotty!!! lol I just love ya too!!! I love what you share here its always sweet and to the point and I dig it! Good for you for not pouting last night... LOL
Happy Friday and so what its the 13th, and screw Jason!!! LOL
Have a great day!
Well, I am so corny that I had to google Jason Voorhees to see who the heck you were talking about!
You might however meet Michael Carmichael. If you do I bet he won't insult your shoes or call you his bitch! But he will be OMGing all over the place along with sashaying across the room "like a hussy, yelling 'Oh my God!' at the top of their lungs while hopping up and down, and generally acting like Miss Thing."
I don't know who Jason is, but he has probably left me a message on my home phone, I'll let ya know when I get there.
OK I will hee hee
Your gratitude list was just what I need to read today .. thank you for sharing...oh..there is a person with a hockey mask on outside your window...weird Bunny didn't bark? LOL;P
Love the last item on gratitude. As for Jason, it took me all of 5 seconds to know who when I was at Daaves blog. Glad you did not out last night, it does not add to the face value. Love ya.
Pouting is something that I can do well--that and fume. Fuming is slightly to the left of pouting on the self-pity scale. With pouting, I'm reminded of the Christmas song,"you'd better watch out, you'd better not cry, you'd better not pout, I'm telling you why....."
