IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

"One Day At A Time." To a newcomer this and other one-liners of A.A. may seem ridiculous. The passwords of the A.A. Fellowship can become lifelines in moments of stress. Each day can be like a rose unfurling according to the plan of a Power greater than myself. My program should be planted in the right location, just as it will need to be groomed, nourished, and protected from disease. My planting will require patience, and my realizing that some flowers will be more perfect than others. Each stage of the petals' unfolding can bring wonder and delight if I do not interfere or let my expectations override my acceptance -- and this brings serenity. ~Daily Reflections
Today I am grateful...
  • that Bunny's meds have kicked in and his itching is mostly under control
  • that I have a follow-up appointment with my primary care Dr today
  • for reading materials to take while I wait
  • that I am trying a new style of painting where I have divided the canvas into segments, will paint each area unique to itself but with some cohesion regarding the overall design focus (that sounds a bit convoluted, but it's the best I can do on a Monday morning)
  • that I will attempt to see my Higher Power in all the people I see today

I hope I can live my life today in a way that people will see and hear what they need from their Higher Power. That's an excellent goal for me, thanks for bringing that up.

Bunny must have some fleas. They are terrible over here. Bad outbreak and lots of dog scratching.

I'm so glad Bunny is feeling better.

No, no fleas or ticks as he is on Advantage. He suffers from inhalant allergies.

When I was new, I thought people in AA should just have one of those spinning arrow things - with the slogans on it... when you had a problem, they could just give it a spin and say either
live and let live
let go and let God
one day at a time
first things first
this too shall pass
or think think think....
you get the idea. I have changed my mind about that - a long time ago.
